A Choice of Powertrains

There are several ways you can take your BMW 4 Series from mild to wild. Start with the base BMW 430i. It is powered by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine making 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It's available in rear-wheel drive or as the 430i xDrive Coupe or Gran Coupe four-door all-wheel drive models.

The performance-oriented M440i includes a turbocharged inline six-cylinder making 382-hp and 364 lb-ft. of torque. Available in Gran Coupe and Convertible versions, it can be optioned with rear or xDrive all-wheel drive. All of the previous models use an 8-speed automatic transmission to deliver power to the pavement.

The race-inspired M4 Coupe is also powered by a BMW TwinPower turbo inline six-cylinder engine. In this case, it delivers 473-hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. If that's not enough, step up to the M4 Competition Coupe or Convertible which uses a tuned version of the same engine delivering 503-hp and 470 horsepower.

The regular M4 Coupe delivers with a six-speed manual transmission or 8-speed automatic. The M4 Competition is exclusively available with the 8-speed automatic transmission. It is standard with rear wheel drive, although it can be had with an M-tuned version of the xDrive all-wheel drive system.
